Here are some of my favorite healthy things I can't live without:
Yoga. It is hard for me to sit still for too long, but I love a fast paced vinyasa flow class. My kids practice with me. Their downward dog is pretty good!
This yoga DVD is my most favorite (amazing, challenging, you will sweat) teacher. When I started practicing yoga years ago, I could hardly touch my toes. As my practice has evolved, I can bend into the shape of a pretzel (a whole wheat one of course).
Running. I injured myself a couple of months ago while running and took a break. I missed my runs. With the temperature rising outside, my miles are increasing too. Thanks to my friend who has agreed to run the Soldier Field 10 Mile Race with me, my running shoes are being used again:) And thanks Katy Perry for your new song "Part of Me." It is so much fun to run to!
Dark Chocolate. I have to have chocolate everyday. Dark chocolate is supposedly healthy for you?! Hooray! It is filled with antioxidants. I have one of these Kind Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew Bars to keep my sweet tooth in check. My daughter is also obsessed with them! How do I flip this photo?! The growing pains of a new blogger...
Greek Yogurt. I LOVE Fage! Try it sprinkled with fresh berries and a little granola (too much granola and it no longer remains a healthy snack). Or try it swirled with a banana and a spoonful of natural peanut butter.
Fage also provides a baking bonus- I substitute Fage 2% when baking in place of sour cream. Protein packed cakes, muffins, and breads! Decadent and delicious!
